I am from the whitest sands you've ever seen, from a great game of Monopoly and my Pogo Stick hopping all over.
I am from the old, 822 house by the railroad tracks, with the berry bushes in back just beyond the new swing-set!
I am from the sand dunes, the sea weed, and the crashing waves.
I am from going to Aunt Erna and Uncle Ralph's house with all the cousins on Christmas day and eating TONS of good food and homemade pies from Aunt Erna, Aunt Louise, and my Granny!
I am from family time; from seeing Kelly and Michelle as sisters rather than cousins! From spending hours laughing and giggling as did all the ladies in our family!
I am from the importance of obeying my mom and getting good grades. I am from J-O-Y (Jesus first, Yourself last, and Others in between)! I am from being a "C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N and I have C-H-R-I-S-T in my H-E-A-R-T and I will L-I-V-E-E-T-E-R-N-A-L-L-Y"!
I am from the Alligator State, west of Tampa; I am from Pier 60. I am from the prettiest beaches around- Clearwater; where the mullet is fried and the grits are buttered!
I am from my Uncle Steve building an extra room on our house, from my Uncle Mark wrestling with me, from Grandpa Monroe giving the biggest hugs, from my Granny refusing to buy a recliner unless it was big enough to fit me AND her sitting in it, and from my awesome mom who as a single lady did everything she could to make my life great!
This is a poem format that my friend had to do for her Comp I class. This assignment was meant to help her to be more descriptive with her writing. The poem originally came from George Ella Lyon and she was given a template to fill in.
Now here is the challenge for all of my blogger friends out there.
Here is the template, you fill it in with where you are from, and post it on your blog.
If you do this please come back by and leave me a comment with a link to your blog so I can enjoy yours as well.
OOH I like it! Thanks for playing along.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on mine. But technically I should be working for the people who are paying me! lol
ReplyDeleteGood job, Rachel!
