Broken Heart

My Xander has such a big heart! He loves everyone he meets; no one is a stranger to him; he gives hugs to his friends; he just loves to love people! Sometimes though, he wants to be with a person SO much that he gets so excited and hurts them.

For instance, he'll climb on his grandpa & end up kicking him in the stomach; or he'll climb on YaYa and dig his knee into her shoulder ... OUCH! Well, tonight, he got me! :( Tonight, he came up behind me to hug me (sweet, right?), but instead choked me so hard that I couldn't even talk to tell him to quit (not so sweet... boo)! When I finally got him off of me, I tried to explain to him why NOT to be so rough...how it can hurt people... how he needs to settle down, even when he's just trying to show his love. The look on his face broke my heart. I just made him sadder than ever before; I crushed his poor little heart... he was sad because I was sad. He was sad because he hurt me. For 15 minutes my sweet little man cried because he was so devastated that he hurt his mommy!

What do I do with that? I hate breaking my baby's heart, but he's gotta learn boundaries, right? Boo...hate putting him to bed sad!

You do have to teach him boundaries...crazy as it seems, he may need an egg baby to take care of or something. Just to show him that you can love too hard. ??? Just a thought.

oh man, i so now how you feel. and: i can't believe my little guy will ever get that big. it goes soo fast though!! being a mom is all about change. sigh;)
