Tball Practice

Last night, we had several firsts for Xander. His first time holding a baseball bat; his first time having to listen to a Coach; his first time playing catch with a baseball out on the field. Tim and I realized that we've really deprived our child when he said, "Daddy, is the baseball game inside somewhere?" Tim said, "No, you go outside & run around with the other kids on your team." He said, "But it's muddy outside!" LOL.... poor kid needs to play in the dirt a little bit!

I was worried that he would get out there & hate it, but I was wrong! He had a blast! The coaches took all the kids (ages 3-4) on a tour of the ball field... walked around all the bases & back to home plate. Then they all ran the bases! Kinda funny to watch because these kids have NO IDEA what they're supposed to do with these so-called "bases!"

The coaches had them all spread out into a semi-circle, and they rolled a ball to them one at a time. They had to get/catch the ball with their glove, then throw it back to the coach! That was fun to watch too!

After the throwing time, they took turns hitting the ball. They got to hit the ball 3 times before they'd get to run to 1st base...then to second & third...then around to home plate! Xander looked so cute in his helmet...the $1 helmet :)!! They wore their helmets while hitting the ball off the tee! I was so proud that he actually hit the ball & not the tee (hehe)!! After they finished letting all the kiddos run the bases & hit the ball, they gathered in a little circle, put hands in center & yelled "SOX"... it was so cute to see his first huddle! My baby boy is growing up so fast! I can't even believe it!
