Bad Church?

Today, when Xander woke up, he came out of the room with his Toddler Picture Bible. He opened it to the page where Jesus is on the cross...people are crying...mean looking soldiers in the background. He said, "Mommy, am I going to the bad church that does this?" I told him that church isn't bad, and no, we aren't going to go to a church that does that.... so he wanted to know why Jesus was on the X (the cross). WOW... never expected this kind of questioning first thing in the morning! So, I proceeded to explain how Jesus is God's son; mean soldiers who didn't like Jesus killed him (that was fun explaining); but kept explaining how the story ends.... I explained how Jesus came back from the dead...that we celebrate Easter because that's the day that Jesus came back from the dead! Explained that he is in Heaven now... he said, "With GiGi?"... (my grandmother)... I told him of course! I don't think his little 4 year old mind fully understood everything, but he spent the whole morning...until he went to school...asking questions about Jesus, heaven, etc. I love being able to share the story of Jesus with Xander...I'll love it even more when he can fully, mentally "grasp" the concept!
