Two Talk-able Things about Tuesday:
1: Breakfast for dinner:
Xander has been wanting breakfast for days. Not just the quickie breakfast he normally gets before school (cereal; pb&j; etc).. he wanted sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese (or as he calls them "cheesy eggs"), waffles... THE WORKS! So I promised him that dinner tonight would be breakfast- just like he wants! You would've thought I handed him a million dollars when I told him what was for dinner- he was THRILLED! So glad the little things still make this kid happy :)
2: Parent/Teacher Conference:
The time of year that I can talk to the teacher one-on-one and get a feel for how Xander is doing in school. The time of year that I hear directly from the teacher what I need to know about him as a student!
Well, as every parent hopes to hear, she said I have a great kid! She said that his testing shows him to be right where he should be for a 6yo in 1st grade. The things he doesn't know (on testing) are the things they haven't covered which shows her that he's grasping the concepts they are teaching (good thing, right?) She said he is a lovable kid with a big heart... #proudmommymoment.
She said that her only "negative" is that he is a social butterfly...not that that is bad, but that when it's time to listen, it's not time to talk to his neighbor. BUT... the kicker is... she said that when she tells him to stop talking, he ALWAYS listens... so while a potential negative, she's not bothered by it!
**I have NO IDEA where his "social butterfly-ness" comes from... no idea whatsoever!! LOL
Tell me two things about your day???
