Today was my "snuggle-bug's" birthday! He turned 4 today! I just adore that kiddo! I've mentioned before that he and I have a bond that none of the other kids have. He is the only of my 4 kids who, when born, was put right on my chest to snuggle. We had that moment right away, and believe it or not, I think we bonded quicker than I did with the other three! Since day one, he has been a cuddler! He gives the bestest hugs!
Asher has a had a rough year. In November he was hospitalized with croup. Early in the year, we had him back at the hospital with croup-like/asthma-like breathing. Then he had his eye surgery, that WOULD have been a standard, easy in/out procedure, but he was SO sick from the anesthetic that he was admitted to children's hospital. I feel bad for him, but through EVERY SINGLE medical issue, he's been a trooper! He's always smiling and happy. At the most recent event, he'd lay there on the hospital bed and wimper, then when he'd look at me or my mom, he'd get this cheesy grin that told us our Asher-bug was still there...happy as ever!
Today, for his birthday, we went to church as a family (which we don't get to do as often as I would like since I work the overnight shift).... after church, we all went to eat at one of his favorite restaurants: CiCis Pizza :). The Bunch, along with my mom, brother, and in-laws, were all there for his little party. His cake was a fireman puppy... CUTE! He got fun toys that he LOVED... then after CiCis, we went to the store with his great-grandma's birthday money to let him pick out a couple new toys as well! He LOVED being able to control what he got!
He is my second-born son... my snuggle bug... my Blond Beau... I love him so dearly. Happy birthday to you, my awesome Asher Monroe Boni! Can't believe you are 4 years old!! And I absolutely love your cute little facial expressions... you are so adorable!!
