Say "Please"

Ok... so I know it's polite and good manners for kids to say please and thank you, right? But I have a problem when that "magic word" gets thrown back at me! Lately, when I ask the kids to do something, they won't do it until MOMMY says please. VERY.ANNOYING. I'll say, "Asher, pick up your toys so we can do block time." He'll stand there and look at me dumbfounded and say, "Say 'PLEASE,' mommy!" Ugh and grrr! Yes, mommy knows that please is the magic word, but really... I AM THE MOMMY and if I say to do something why does MOMMY have to say please to child? Yes, I understand, mutual respect... I understand setting an example, but really?? I think that when mommy says "DO" you are supposed to do. Not wait for me to say "please" and/or ask "why?" I think I say "because I said so" about 50 times a day...it's exhausting!

Ok, I'm done ranting now... hope you had a good day!
