Howdie Y'all!

Yesterday was an event-filled day. BUT ... since it was my "Grateful Heart Friday" post, I decided to save the day's events for today's post! Yesterday, I was all kinds of grateful for Tim...read about it HERE!

Yesterday morning, Asher had his doctor appointment with our pediatrician! After our trip to the ER last week due to his LACK of breathing, we were following up with the ped. The ER Dr. mentioned the possibility of asthma. But the radiologist report AND our ped agree that the X-Rays don't show signs of any lung disease...including asthma! PRAISE GOD! Some of you may remember, back in November, Asher had a similar issue when he was in the hospital for 2 days due to difficulty breathing. At that time, the drs. called it "croup," however, he didn't have the croupy cough... only the terrible breathing issues- his lungs were clear then too. SO... our pediatrician said that, given his history of breathing problems NOT related to the lungs, he thinks maybe there's something going on in his throat. So, we got our lucky little referral to see an ENT (ear, nose, & throat Dr) sometime soon. Asher mentions every now and then that it feels like there's something stuck in his throat...so maybe??!! Anyways, he thought that perhaps his windpipe is too narrow, or something else is happening there, so he wants the ENT to check more thoroughly.

Just before we were ready to leave the ped's office, Bella climbed out of her stroller (normally a painless process). BUT this time, she mis-stepped and fell on the tile floor face first! Her nose has a line across it where it squished & bruised... her forehead has a little goose-egg and a line from the tile floor imprinted in the center. I jumped up to get her as she screamed... the Dr. RAN out of the office to get ice. It was all very dramatic! After the dr. checked out her nose & assured me that she wasn't in danger of a concussion, we were FINALLY on our way! FYI, today, she seems fine- no extreme bruising, so YAY!

Then, last night, after all the commotion died down, my mom came over to watch the kids so Tim and I could go out for our date night. We were celebrating our anniversary! We went to dinner at Duke's (at the Spirit Bank event center). It's a "southern cookin" style restaurant. It was very "odd"! They take reservations (not required), the food has almost a "gourmet" presentation, and the prices are $12+ for the entrees (most are over $15)... BUT... the servers were in blue jeans and t-shirts, the "dress code" is casual (most everyone was wearing shorts). It was like a fancy-shmancy restaurant smashed into a home-style restaurant...
I LOVED IT!
The food was great; the service was great; the ambiance was great!
Did I mention that I LOVED IT???!!!

After dinner, we went to see the movie Source Code (with Jake Gyllenhaal). It was freakin fantastic!
I LOVED IT TOO!!!

SO, all in all- apart from the goose-egged princess- it was a great day! So glad that Asher doesn't have asthma!! WAHOO!
Had a blast with my honey (without my children)!! WAHOO!

Oh yeah, AND I got a new pillow....DOUBLE WAHOO! You'd be surprised what changing out your pillow can do for your sleep... It was wonderful!
(haha... I know, it's the little things in life that amuse me!)
