What is your dream job, and why?
It's funny to me how, over the years, our "dream job" changes. I remember growing up, all I wanted to do with my life was to be an attorney. When I was 10 or 11 years old, my uncle even bought me a Legal Dictionary... it was my life's dream.
And then....
In my sophomore year of high school, we had a Career Day. We had the opportunity to meet with three different people in three different career paths to decide what was best for us! Pretty cool deal...until I met with an attorney and found out all that was required to become an attorney. I was SO very intimidated by it all... So I changed my long-planned life goal!
I was going to be a Child Psychiatrist!
So...this was my plan. I finished high school...went to the local Junior college as a Psych major. After getting my Associate of Arts degree in Psychology, I transferred to a 4-year college to continue my education. In the middle of my junior year as a Psych major, I had a spiritual epiphany! I realized that my heart was to help people, but not in this way. I realized that I was trying to do things on my own...without asking God what HE thought I should do.
And then...
I left college to go to a Bible College for two years. Focusing on ministry... Children's Church ministry (my goal is to one day be able to travel the world & work with the kids in other countries). While there, I met my amazing husband...we began our lives together! In the process of us having our four kids, I had some GREAT OB nurses and some pretty crummy ones. One even had me in tears, and I had to ask her to leave my room. SO... I decided that my DREAM job is now to be an OB nurse! I want to be the nurse that patients come back to visit! I LOVE the process of childbirth... I love hearing people's stories... I am not at all "grossed out" by the childbirth goo! (LOL)
SO...
SO...
While my heart is still to serve God through missions and Children's ministry stuff, I REALLY WANNA BE AN OB NURSE! SO... my current goal is to go back to college when all of my kids are in school (2 more years) so I can get my nursing degree. Who knows...maybe I can be an OB nurse on medical missions trips... That might be kinda cool, right??!!
