Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood
1. In honor of today being the 30th anniversary of my grandpa's death, my first significant memory is of him. He was killed by a drunk driver just before I turned 5 years old, so I don't have a lot of memories of him. This one isn't necessarily a "good" memory, but it's one of the few I have before he was killed. My mom says that I absolutely adored my grandpa... but one day, a car battery blew up in his face and he had patches on his eyes. I remember him coming toward me to hug me, and I FREAKED SMOOTH OUT! I was terrified of the bandages on his eyes! Since I was so young when he was killed, I hold on to whatever I can to remember him...even if it was a "scary" moment! Miss you, grandpa!
2. Learning to ride a bike was pretty significant. It's one of the many "milestones" for a kid...ya know? We were living in a duplex right next to the church where my mom grew up. The church parking lot was full of small rocks and shells... NOT A SMOOTH SURFACE! This is where my mom taught me how to ride a bike! Enough said!! LOL... pretty sure it didn't take me too long to realize that if I didn't balance, I'd fall on a painful parking lot!
3. Finally, one of the most fun vacations ever... my mom and grandma took me to Babyland General Hospital! It was the coolest trip ever! Babyland General Hospital is where Cabbage Patch Kids are born. I absolutely LOVED my Cabbage Patch babies! If you're in or near Georgia and you have a little girl, you should take her to visit...admission is free! ANYWAYS, every maybe 15 or 30 minutes, they'd announce that a baby was about to be born... everyone went to the "delivery room" to watch the "doctors" pull a baby out of the cabbage patch!! As soon as the baby was "born" the first two names yelled out by the visitors determined the name of the baby! So, if you ever wonder how the names are so random... now you know! LOL! I will forever remember that vacation stop as one of my favorites!!
