Merry Christmas Eve

Today was a fun day!

I went shopping yesterday and got everything I needed for this weekend. I VOWED to not step foot in a retail establishment today...knowing it would be insanely crowded with last-minute shoppers!

Then, this afternoon, my brother sends me a text asking what "we" are getting for mom for Christmas. I told him what I had already bought for her birthday (2 days ago) and what I bought for her for Christmas. I reminded him that Christmas is TOMORROW... and asked what he was planning to do! Side note: his car is broke down, so he can't take himself shopping! Anyways, his "plan" was to get me to take him to WalMart...TODAY... on Christmas Eve...the day that I vowed to not step foot in there! UGH.... but what's a girl to do? I told him that the only way I could take him, since Tim was at work, is if mom was willing to keep the kids for me... because I was NOT taking them into WalMart. So, he told her I needed to do some last minute shopping and asked her to come watch kids... she did... so I took him! By the way, he's a dork! SO... I did a little shopping and he got what he wanted for mom... AND WalMart was not crowded! I was shocked!

Tonight, my mom and brother came over and we ate tons of food... UGH, I'm so stuffed! We had fried shrimp, onion rings, and fried zucchini... LOTS of fried!! Then we also had a couple of dips...

#1: Hot Jezebel Dip
1 12 oz jar apricot preserves
4 Tbsp horseradish
4 drops hot sauce
1 Tbsp black pepper
*Mix all together and pour over 8oz block of cream cheese
*Serve with tortilla chips or crackers of your choice

#2: Dried beef dip
1 8oz cream cheese
1 8oz sour cream
2-3 chopped green onions
1 2oz jar dried beef (chopped)
*Mix all together
*Serve with tortilla chips or crackers of your choice

Both dips are delicious...couldn't get enough of either one! We also did cheddar balls- they kinda taste like Cheddar Bay biscuits from Red Lobster. I found the recipe on Pinterest... Click HERE for the recipe! OR, if you don't want to click there, here's what you do...super easy:

Cheese Balls
1 Cup Rice Krispies
1 melted stick butter
1 Cup flour
1 Cup Cheddar Cheese
(I added a little extra cheese 'cause I like cheese)
*Mix together. Roll into balls and place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350degrees for 20 minutes. They were really yummy!!!

After the twins went to bed, Xander and Asher helped me make chocolate chip cookies for Santa. They both got phone calls from Santa (thanks to www.sendacallfromsanta.com) telling them that our house is his first stop in Oklahoma so they better get to bed early and NO PEEKING! They were ecstatic! Xander left a note for Santa.... It says, "I love Santa. Do you love me. Xanber"
(YES, I realize his name isn't XanBer, but sometimes his D's are B's... and I didn't correct him because this was his third time writing it because twins kept erasing it! Didn't want to make him write it AGAIN!!)

After the kids were all in bed, I got busy wrapping presents... because yes, I am THAT mom who waits until the last minute to wrap gifts! So, now I am finally finished wrapping Santa gifts in the special Santa wrapping paper, and all the rest in miscellaneous papers. I am exhausted- it's been a LONG day!

The only thing missing today was my mother and father in law. They went to Ohio to visit Tim's grandmother for Christmas. I am sure they're having fun, but the great day we had today would've been even more great if they had been here too! Love ya' In-Law Boni's!!!
