So... you know that I sleep on Mondays... until around 1230 or 1 in the afternoon. WELL, because my hubby loves me, he let me have an extra hour of sleep today! I woke up in a slight panic at 2pm thinking something MUST be wrong for him to have not awaken/awoken *which is it?* me yet! His answer to my panicked, "Why am I still sleeping?" was "I love you and wanted to let you sleep til I put the kids down!" Ain't he sweet? The kids went down for nap at 2, then he woke me up! Since they were in their rooms, I got up and didn't have to play "mommy" until 5pm :-) WAHOO!!
I know that it gets cold every year in November/December... it's common, right? Why the heck am I so very shocked ... and caught off guard... when it DOES finally get cold? This morning, the wind-chill temperature was 19 degrees! It was cold... and the rest of the day pretty much stayed that cold! The weather had predicted snow, but I never saw any! The big boys were disappointed because I told them this morning that it was supposed to snow and it never did. Oh well... I am sure they'll get some snow soon enough!
Xander didn't have school today because his school had a gas leak they had to fix! So they notified all the parents that they were closing for today! I'm kinda glad because I was trying to decide whether or not to send him to school since he puked at church yesterday! They made the decision SO MUCH easier!!
At bath/shower time, I have been "showering" the twins for awhile now... I get the shower head attachment and hold it for them...spraying and bathing them as they stand in there.
BUT, tonight, I put them in with the shower head in its holder so it was a REAL shower! They didn't like it too much. Bella's arms were turning purple because she didn't want to stand under the stream of the water...when I put her under the water, she screamed! LOL.... yes, I like torturing my kids! HaHa...not really... but it is a little funny that they're freaked out about water! This picture was the ONE time they were actually smiling! Pretty cute, right??
For dinner tonight, we had rigatoni and meat sauce...it was Delish! Nothing special about it... just good ol' comfort food! Then, about an hour or so after dinner, Tim wanted onion rings. So, I found a recipe online for the Outback Onion Ring batter and tried it! It was pretty good!
1 C milk
1 egg
1 C flour
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon Italian seasonings
1/8 tsp cumin
*Mix it all up together until it's smooth. Coat onions in batter and let cook in oil. My deep fryer is set to 325 degrees... and it took about 4-5 minutes for each batch to fully cook. Then we, of course, dipped in Hidden Valley Ranch dressing!
YUM
