Today is Xander's 7th birthday! It's so crazy to think that 7 years ago today, I delivered my first son! My 9lb, 6oz son, he melted my heart from the very beginning... seeing Tim holding our first child melted my heart like never before.
A dear friend, Jodie, told me when she delivered her first baby, "I now understand 'AGAPE' love. The love of our God. I never really knew how completely God loved me until I saw my baby!"
WISE WORDS from a WISE WOMAN!
As I ponder what she said, I know how very true it is! Just when you THINK you know how much God loves you... He gives you a baby so you can REALLY see how love works! That wonderfully unconditional love between God and His children... I get a glimpse of this every time I think about how much I love my kids!

-------------------------------------------
For Xander,
The moment I met you, I was in love with you! You were my first born son, and no matter how many kids I had after you, I will always hold a very special place in my heart for you! You have the biggest heart of any kid I've ever met. Last week, as we drove by a restaurant that had been burned, you saw that they were re-building. You said, "Mommy, can we take the worker guys a drink, because it's really hot outside!" A few months ago, we got new neighbors and the first thing you said when they moved in was, "We should make them a cake or a pie to say welcome!" You are always looking out for other people! When Bella gets hurt, you are there with her, most of the time, quicker than I am! You love your brothers and sister SO much and it shows in how you talk to them, how you hug them and play with them! Every person you meet is your "best friend" ... even if you've only known them for 5 minutes. You are the sweetest child ever! Several times a week, you come to me and just say, "I love you, mommy!" For no apparent reason, you just love me! Melts my heart! You ask for "snuggle time"... you're 7 years old and you still ask for snuggle time! I LOVE THAT! I love you so much, Xander!
You are so smart too! At our last parent/teacher conference of the 1st grade, your teacher (Mrs. Mitchell) said that all of your test scores are the same as the much older kids in your class. You are one of the youngest in your grade, so she was- at the beginning of the year- concerned about your maturity, but you have proven to be able to handle all of the work without any problems! I'm so proud of you and how well you're doing in school! Your report card every quarter was perfect without any "needs improvement" ; your test scores are right on target! I am amazed every day by how much you can read...it's almost a little scary- I can't spell certain words in front of you anymore because you can figure out what I'm trying to say in secret! It's too funny!
Your favorite color is "River Blue"... I'm not quite sure what that color is, but you say all the time that you love "river blue"!! Your favorite tv shows right now are Phineas and Ferb, Kickin It, and The Troop. You play soccer in the fall and the spring every year. The excitement on your face when you score during practice makes my whole day! You play video games (like just about every child your age); you like to color and stay in the lines so well! You love root beer and donuts; you would eat a Big Mac every time we went to McDonald's if I let you (LOL...I am a mean mommy!)!
You are the best 1st son and the best big brother ever! God knew what He was doing when He gave me you. You're an amazing little boy, and I can't imagine my life without you in it! I tell you all the time that you are the most AWESOME Xander on the planet... I have never known another Xander that I love more than you!
I love you- always and forever!
Your mommy
