30 Days about Me

My newly found Blogger Buddy, Heather- over at "Best of Both Worlds" recently posted a challenge: 30 Things in 30 Days about ME! So, I thought it sounded like a fun thing to try. She says, "You can post each day or once a week.... : ) It will be fun! I know for me I can't promise a post everyday and have failed most challanges but I'm really looking forward to this and having other bloggers do it along with me"

So, I accept the challenge... and here is my Day 1: 

20 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MYSELF

1. In 1997, I moved from Sterling, Colorado to Sterling, Kansas for college...for two reasons. Number one: it was a "Sterling thing," and number two: they had a Bag-Pipe Band! HAHA

2. I attended a College Prep School for my freshman & sophomore years in high school!

3. Two of my all-time favorite TV shows that I could watch over and over again: Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel- cheesy but the creator, Joss Whedon, is AWESOME!

4. My first son is named, Xander... after one of the characters on Buffy (see #3)!!

5.  I LOVE logic problems. While some people buy crossword puzzle books, I buy Logic books. I LOVE trying to figure out these things!

6. Before I had kids, I hated chocolate and all seafood. Now, post-pregnancies, I LOVE chocolate and SOME seafood. My mom used to say I couldn't be her kid... now I think she'll claim me!!

7.  I love to HAVE jackets, but I can't stand wearing them! Every winter I try on tons of different jackets and OOO and AHHH over them, but don't buy them because I KNOW I won't wear them. They're just so bulky! HAHA :)

8. I didn't kiss my husband until our wedding day- 3 years and 4 months after our first date!!

9. I REALLY want to be an OB Nurse one day ... can't wait to "catch" some babies!!

10. I love the color purple. Not the movie... really, the actual COLOR of purple! It's my favorite!

11. I never wanted to have a daughter... I was always scared she'd be a priss- and I, being tom-boyish, wouldn't know what to do with a prissy little girl. BUT, God blessed me with the PERFECT little girl. She likes her dolls, but she plays with bugs and dirt too... I ADORE HER!

12. If I were as OCD about my house as I am about my work, my house would be AMAZING! People at work tell me to "let it go" on a regular basis because I am so OCD... but at home, I don't know where to begin! LOL

13.  I don't care about my hair when I get it cut. I let the stylist decide what to do! My theory is that it'll grow back. Even if I hate it (which one time in the 90's I really had a bad one), it WILL only be for a short time, then it'll grow out and I can change it! SO... I am at the stylist's mercy!!

14. I am a control-freak. If it's not gonna be done my way, then I'd almost rather do it myself! I prefer to drive as opposed to being the passenger...again, because it's not getting done MY way! hehe

15. My grandpa used to work at Walt Disney World...and I lived in Florida growing up...so I went to WDW anytime that I wanted for free! Pretty cool, huh!!??

16. I work at Walmart as a Customer Service Manager, and I LOVE my job. I really do!! It's not my "forever job," but for now, for such a time as this, I LOVE my job!

17. I work best under pressure! My best work is done when I feel the rush and pressure of an upcoming deadline!

18. I want to go to Africa! I have been to Peru for missions before, but I have always wanted to go to Africa!

19. I LOVE my in-laws! Very few people can say that, but truly, God has given me great in-laws! So great that my mom and mother-in-law even go out on occasion without me or my husband!

20. I enjoy mowing the grass! Yes, I know it's crazy, but I really do! The noise of the mower drowns out the world around me so it's JUST me. No kids, no cell phone, no computer...just me! I love the alone "quiet" time!!
