Five Minute Friday: Tree

Five Minute Friday

Today's Prompt word: TREE

START:
Honestly, several different ideas blew through my mind as I saw the word "Tree." I thought about the tree that Jesus died upon. I thought about the pretty leaves that are falling all over outside from the winter weather moving in.

A Christmas Tree

The Christmas Tree makes my heart smile. While walking around Wally World today, the kids wanted to look at the Christmas decor. Asher and I started singing "Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!" It was so fun!!

I am excited about this time of year. As I think about the leaves on my lawn, I am reminded of how close the Christmas season is. We're less than 6 weeks away. That means that SOON and very soon, we'll be setting up the TREE in that one corner of our living room. And the kids will get to put the ornaments anywhere they choose. And Tim and I will start going through the closet full of goodies we've accumulated through the year to figure out who gets what!

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!

I LOVE CHRISTMAS TREES!!

there's the alarm... STOP!
-------------------------------

I know my 5 minutes is up, but I have to say, the best tree of all is THE tree... THE tree that was planted into the ground for Christ to hang upon. He willingly went to the cross to die for you and me. He took all of our sins and sicknesses and pain to that cross. He paid the price for us so we wouldn't have to! He loved you and me SO MUCH that

On that TREE, HE set us FREE!

Thank you, LORD, for the ultimate sacrifice upon that tree 2000 years ago!

  2. I hadn't even thought of Christmas trees...even though mom and I were discussing whether or not my husband and I would have one this year or next year or not at all earlier today. I was curious as to where people would go with the prompt "tree" and wondered how many options there could be... obviously, lots of them!

  4. Sounds like such fun. We won't have a tree in our home this year because we're traveling to see me family (who we haven't seen in four years!). Plenty of tree and happiness there. Have a beautiful time celebrating the Season!
