Five Minute Friday: Grace

Friday- the day of the week that hundreds of bloggers link up with Lisa-Jo Baker for a Five Minute Friday topic! We get 5 minutes of blog time- unedited... just typing our thought about one single word!

Today's word:

GRACE!

I love this!!

START:

Ephesians 2: 8-9
"For by GRACE are you saved through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, not by works so that no one can boast!"

WOW! I have always loved this scripture.

I have heard that "GRACE" is God's unmerited favor. God's favor goes before us like a shield... His favor protects us from harm... from attacks of the devil! His favor... HIS grace... is unmerited! I did NOTHING to deserve his favor. He loves me so much that he gives it to me. HIS grace provides for me! His grace protects me! His grace has set me free. His grace has saved me. MY works do nothing. MY efforts are useless. MY attempts are worthless. It doesn't matter what I do in life, God loves me enough to GIFT to me HIS grace!

Thank you, Father God, for the grace you have given to me. Thank you for your favor that goes out in front of me to protect me, to bless me, to redeem me, and to set me free from the crud of this world! I am SO glad that God's grace is not dependent upon ME! If it were, I'd be in trouble! I slip and fall... I will fail, BUT GOD... He never fails! Thank you, GOD, for your unfailing grace!!

Boni, your blog is adorable! How ironic that we both chose the same verse, Ephesians 2:8-9 for our post on Grace! I look forward to looking around and checking out your space!

You know you're a mom if...

...if kids songs are the ones stuck in your head (from Renee)
...if you realize your kids are 3 years old and it is time to start carrying a normal purse and no longer the diaper bag as your purse (from Renee)
