Mod Podge and Dr Suess

I found an AWESOME idea on Pinterest recently. The person who posted used a Dr. Suess book to create wall art and a lamp shade- check it out HERE

After seeing this fun idea, I was inspired!!

My friend, Tami, just delivered her second set of twins- her first were girls- 2 1/2 years ago. This time, she had boys!! The nursery is decorated in Dr Suess. So when I saw the Pinterest post, I HAD to do something for her boys!!

So, I made my plan to shop for supplies! I bought One fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish at Walmart, then went to Hobby Lobby for the Mod Podge and letters. I bought all wooden letters to spell the boys' names (Nathan and Isaac), then went home to begin!

Let me tell you, this was a messy project, but the end result was awesome! I tore up the pages of the book- yes, that was a lot like tearing up a Bible... it seems like destroying a Dr Suess book should be against the law! UGH... once I got over the trauma of defacing this great work of art, I really had fun! I tore and tore and glued and glued!

Here's the result.... I think they turned out AWESOME!!
