So, the kiddos did fantastic on the plane!!! I was totally dreading having to deal with the babies, but they pretty much just slept! And when they were awake, they were eating... so no reason for them to get cranky, right? I was so proud too because the whole time in Florida, they still slept 6-7 hours straight!!! YIPPEE!!! I am loving this new sleep thing for them! Of course it'll be great when they go even longer, but I can't ask too much when they aren't even 2 months old yet, right?
We went to the beach.... it was FREEZING! Yes, it was freezing in Florida! The temp was only about 70 degrees... which is nice, but add a huge, gusting wind to the mix and Brrrrrr! Oh well, we went anyway! I walked in the water, but only for a minute because my legs were like icicles!! Mom and I took the twins, plus my friend, Shannon, and her 2 kids went with us.
I have to tell on myself AGAIN! I was burying my feet in the sand... Shannon's kids stood next to me doing the same thing so she could take a picture of the 3 of us without feet. A big gust of wind blew my hair in my face; I moved the hair, but bumped my sunglasses off my face. So, as I went to reach for my falling sunglasses, I quickly remembered that my feet were firmly planted in the sand.... so I couldn't move.... all I could do was fall back on my butt!!! I laughed so hard that I couldn't get up.... Shannon's 9 year old daughter had to "help" me up!! Of course, since Shannon had the camera geared up and ready for pictures, she caught the whole experience on film! As soon as she gets the pics to me... I will be sure to post them here for you all to enjoy and laugh at! LOL
We got home from Florida on Thursday morning around 1:30 a.m.. At 3:30, Xander was upset because the closet light wasn't on- he was telling me to turn it back on! ONE problem though.... it was off because our power was out! So, snuggling together in bed... freezing... I waited an hour to see if if would come back on. At 4:30, it was still off, so I called the power company. They said, "Other people in your area have reported outages too; there was a car accident and a person hit a pole. We should have the pole fixed by 7:30!" About an hour later, I see police lights outside my window. When I went out to see what was going on, I discovered that the pole that was hit "in my area" was actually in my FRONT YARD! Evidently, the officer explained, a drunk woman lost control of her car while driving down my road and she hit the pole. How she kept driving, I don't know; but she almost rolled her car at the end of my street. So, she went to the gas station around the corner and told them she wrecked her car. Police came... arrested her- they had no clue that she knocked over the pole in front of my house until this point when he was outside my house. I have a BIG tree in my yard that caught it... if the tree weren't there, I may have lost the front corner of my house!!!! Thank God for angels.... and trees! Anyways, the power wasn't back on again until around 11am, but we're warm now! Stupid drunk idiots!!!!
