Quality Time
Receiving Gifts

In my opinion, I am most in the category of Words of Affirmation! The author's website defines this "language" by saying
"Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love
language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the
words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love
sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not
easily forgotten"
I think of the movie Ghost when Demi Moore says to Patrick Swayze "I love you" and he says "Ditto!" She needed to hear that he loved her and every time he said "Ditto" it crushed her.
Her character's love language would've been Words of Affirmation!
In the same respect, I tell Tim that I love him about 50 times a day. I like to say it and I LOVE to hear it! I probably drive him bonkers ...it's like that old saying "I told you I loved you on our wedding day and if I change my mind, I'll let you know!" LOL... funny, but true for NON-Words of Affirmation people!
He tells me several times a day that he loves me...
my heart melts every time-
even after hearing it every day for more than 11 years!
On the website: beliefnet.com, there is a survey to take to see what your love language would be (in case you don't know yours).
Click HERE if you're interested in checking it out! Here are my results of the 30 questions asked:
10- Words of Affirmation
8- Quality Time
10- Words of Affirmation
8- Quality Time
4- Receiving Gifts
2- Acts of Service
6- Physical Touch
So, based on this survey- I lean most to what I expected! It's funny though how this works because I don't think I GIVE out words of affirmation as much as I like to hear them...if that makes sense? I GIVE acts of service more than anything...so it's ironic that it's my least preferred gift to receive! I LOVE serving people- I thrive on service to others, but I don't receive help very well. Hmmmm...interesting!!
