Not So Lazy Day

I realize that when most people have a "snow day," they make it a lazy day. HOWEVER, in the Boni household, it's just the opposite! Especially when the snow day includes Tim. See... while I am essentially a SAHM, I don't get many opportunities to DO stuff around the house! As soon as I leave the room to do something "productive," Jonathan messes with the computer, or Bella climbs up on the shelves, Xander torments his siblings, or Asher plays with the toothpaste. So, I feel like I have to be with them all the time... thus, my house is a wreck! BUT, since I've been blessed by my husband being snowed in too, I've been able to put away laundry (which hasn't been done in WEEKS), I COOKED breakfast (instead of resorting to cereal, like most days), I've kept up with dirty dishes, I picked up in our bedroom, AND I shoveled the snow in the driveway. That was quite a feat.... I was outside shoveling for over an hour (and my back is KILLING me), and I'm still not sure it did any good! I THINK I have cleared a path to get a car out, but haven't tested the theory since the road in front of our house is still so snowy/icy! To top off all this snow we got yesterday, they're calling for more snow on Friday and Monday... HOORAY! I never, in a million years, imagined that my worst ever snow storm to experience would be while living in OK... especially since I spent several years living in Colorado! This is just nutty! OH well...it's been fun (in spite of the kids and us going STIR crazy)... ever seen the movie "The Shining?".... yep...something like that!

LOL...not really!!

For dinner, we didn't do any AMAZING recipe, but all the kids liked it anyways. I grilled smoked sausage, made real mac & cheese, and real potato salad! All basic classics in my household, so I knew everyone would be happy! It was an easy, but delicious dinner. We finished off our dinner with homemade chocolate chip cookies- I found a recipe to make them with pudding mix in the dough... they were SO VERY SOFT!

Ended the day watching some TV...and blogging!! How was your Wednesday?

  1. Maybe tomorrow we will actually get around to getting the house cleaned..I'm hoping the snow doesn't affect flights on Friday as I'm supposed to be going to DC to meet my new niece. :)
