Xander's Story

So...since I last sat down to write anything, so much has happened! Xander had his surgery on June 23rd! We were up bright and early at 4a.m. to take him to the hospital. Drugs do funny things to people!! After they gave him the Versed to calm him before surgery, he decided that he needed to go potty again! So, the nurse told me I'd probably have to help him. So, I carried him to the potty & stood him up right in front.
He said, "Mommy, why didn't you let me walk to the potty?"
I said, "Because the medicine that's in your tummy makes it hard for you to walk!"
Right after I said this, he tried to turn around...dizzy, of course.... and ran smack into the wall! I wish i could say I didn't laugh, but it was really hard not to! Does that make me a bad mommy?? (lol) Anyways, they removed his tube and adenoids. WOW...was he upset after the fact! His throat hurt so bad that day...even with codeine in his system, he was in so much pain. Then, the next day...you'd never know he'd had surgery!! He was back to his wild child self again!! Yea!

Then...on July 5th, we celebrated Xander's 4th birthday (bday is on the 6th) with family and a couple close family friends. We went out for dinner at CiCi's Pizza. He had a Spiderman cupcake cake...and he loved it! Of course he got lots of toys...no where near as many as he'd asked for, but who's counting, right? Then after the party, he got to go home with his little girlfriend for his very first slumber party! She slept in her own bed, but her mommy set up a tent for him to sleep in since he was the birthday boy! He had so much fun! They took him to Big Splash for the day (on his birthday) and he got his very first sunburn... in spite of sunscreen! He had a blast! So... now my baby is 4 years old and goes to pre-K next month....... he's growing up so fast! He's such a sweet big brother and son! Whenever I ask him to do something, he says "Yes Ma'am!" and usually listens! Whenever one of the twins are crying, he'll go sit next to them and say, "I'm here now, don't cry!", then he'll start singing to them! When Asher is crying or upset, he'll go give him a hug! He has such a sweet heart!
