6th Birthday Letter for Asher- 10/23/2013

To my sweetest Asher Monroe,

As we celebrate your 6th birthday, I am taken back to all of the great memories we've had with you. You have brought SO much happiness and joy to my heart. The way you love to snuggle... how you gently kiss me on the cheek to say that you love me...the way you chase the van on the school playground holding up the "I love you" sign language sign... the way you rub my arm or face when you just need a little extra attention. There are so many moments that melt my heart and make me smile!

Our journey together -- from the moment the doctor put you up on my chest when you were born...and you pooped on me... to this morning when you woke up to balloons and crepe paper in celebration of your birth-- has been amazing! When I think of a 5 year old, it still seems like a baby...like a little one. But when I think of a 6 year old, it's like an overnight transformation into big-boyhood! You have grown up so much- even in just the last year! You are my little butterfly that has come out of your cocoon... you've started opening up to friends and teachers... you smile, and talk- even to strangers! Every time I think of you and the progress you have made, I beam with pride. You make me proud, Asher! I can't imagine life without you in it!

You challenge me on a daily basis! You are eager to learn new things! You love looking at books and "reading!" You love all things Star Wars and Legos- just like your big brother! You are not interested in sports, but really want to try Karate lessons! Your favorite colors are yellow and orange! You love to sing- and it's always on key! You are an amazing color-er ... always staying in the lines! You are an amazing kid... and awesome big and little brother! You are my Snuggle-Bug, my Genius Child, my one and only Asher! I love you to the moon and back!!

You know you're a mom if...

...if kids songs are the ones stuck in your head (from Renee)
...if you realize your kids are 3 years old and it is time to start carrying a normal purse and no longer the diaper bag as your purse (from Renee)
