Xander... He is, without a doubt, almost four years old, yet acts like he's 20! He talks so "matter of fact" when he wants something... he'll say "Mommy, I told you that I want cheese puffs!" As though telling me exactly what he wants makes mommy jump & serve... right? He's silly! But I couldn't ask for a better "big brother" to the other three! He'll wipe spit up, take diapers to the trash, shake bottles, give consoling hugs to Asher when he's hurt or in trouble, and he always wants to help feed the babies! It's great seeing him grow up! I have learned though how my mom must have felt raising me! I NEVER shut up as a child... I talked incessantly! Now, I can imagine, this is what my mom felt! Today, Xander was talking about all the trucks we were passing on the road... he wanted to know what kind of truck it was, what it had in it, and where I thought it was going. In the middle of the inquiries, I made a phone call. 10 minutes later, he picked up right where he left off and said, "Mommy, what kind of cookies do you think are in that truck we saw?" It was like he had a "pause button" and was just waiting to pick up where I interupted his train of thought!! Silly mommy... he wasn't done talking! Gotta love it! He has really struggled with ear infections... poor kid! When he was 10 months old, he had to have tubes put in because of so many of them! He did real good for the first year and a half after the tubes... only 1 infection! Now though, we found out that one of the tubes is "stuck" in there and he may need surgery AGAIN to have it removed! SO... we'll find out tomorrow for sure if the ENT dr. thinks he'll need to remove it! Our pediatrician said that it should have come out long ago! So... I'll keep you posted!
