Xander has been counting down the days for the first day for school! Every night we'd count how many more days til school started...then he'd say, "Mommy, why is it taking so long?" So, yesterday we went to meet the teacher: Mr Cooper. He seemed like a nice guy; and all my friends who have had kids in Mr Cooper's class have
loved him...so I'm sure Xander will too! Last night, he said, "I love my teacher!" I told him last night that he'd be going to school almost every day...he said, "But why mommy?" He didn't know that school was every day...he thought it was a one time deal!! (Silly boy!)
This morning we got up and got ready.... it was a little more tricky than I expected... normally he can take his time eating breakfast, but today, the pressure was on.... he had to eat & get ready quick!! BUT...we made it! In fact, when we got to the school, he was ready to leave me to play on the playground....forget checking in with his teacher! So, I left him in the capable hands of his teacher, Mr. Cooper, and his assistant Ms. Lisa. I was so worked up and ready to cry, that then the time came, the tears did not! So, I walked away, leaving my baby boy behind....
I watched the clock for the entire 2 1/2 hours he was there! I couldn't wait to go pick him up and hear all about his day! So, I got Asher, Jonathan, and Bella loaded into the car to go get big brother at school!
We got there 15 minutes early... so there we sat!! I completely forgot that I left the double stroller in the OTHER car....so, since I didn't park close enough to the entrance...and they don't just let the kids run out of the class.... I had to ask another mommy to tell the teacher that I was stuck at my car with babies and couldn't go to the door....then, I had to wave at the teacher saying it was OK to release my kid to that mom.... I was so embarrassed! Mental note: Take double stroller tomorrow!Needless to say, since my kid is quite the social butterfly, he did just fine & loved his first day of pre-Kindergarten! He can't wait to go back tomorrow!

So glad he loves school!
