My boy is growing up!

Xander finished his first year of school today! It seems like yesterday that I stood at the gate saying "Goodbye" to him on the first day of school! Then today, when Mr. Cooper opened the door to let the kids out, he said, "I now present to you, your Kindergarten children!" Of course, it brought tears to my eyes! I can't even believe how far he has come in the last year! He didn't know how to recognize letters then, now he does; he didn't know how to recognize most numbers then, now he does; he had no idea what a pattern was then, now he does! I am so proud of my little man! (LEFT) His first day of Pre-K (RIGHT) Today, his last day of Pre-K

The two pictures below are Xander "all growed up!" (LEFT) When he walked out of class as one of the newest kindergartners; (RIGHT) His "graduation" picture! Mr. Cooper sent home a book titled: Cooper's Cubs: A look back Central Pre-K 2009-2010. On the front page is a letter that he wrote to Xander, plus a picture of him & Xander together... I think it's so cool that he wrote a letter to each kid!

The letter said:
"Dear Xander, I made this book just for you! I wanted you to remember the fun times you had in Pre-K. I am so glad that I was your teacher. You are a very special person; someone I will never forget. I'll always remember what a polite and kind young man you were. You had a great memory. You would often go home telling your mom everything that was said throughout the day, so she was always kept well informed. I'll always remember how much you loved trucks of all shapes and sizes. I ordered some truck books for the classroom with you in mind, and we would read those together all the time. You learned a lot this year. I am very proud of you. I hope as you get older you continue to learn and succeed. If this year is any indication, I know all your hopes and dreams will come true! Just remember that no matter what happens in life, I will always be there for you. My door will always be open. Have a good summer and a great year in Kindergarten! Love, Mr. Cooper"

Dear Xander,
I am so proud of the young man that you've become. You have learned so much in the last year, and I can't wait to see all the great things you'll learn in the years to come!
I love you, son, more than these words can express!

Love,
Mommy!
