Tara, in my TMOM (Tulsa Mothers of Multiples) group, is in the hospital right now on complete bed rest trying to prevent her twins from coming into this world 4 months early. She was feeling great; she went in for her check up with her OB/Gyn, and he sent her directly to the hospital. Her body was preparing for labor...contractions and all! But, she is only 5 months pregnant, so OBVIOUSLY she doesn't need to be having those twin girls any time soon. Her husband sends out update emails letting us all know how she is doing, and a big handful of the ladies in our group have sent very encouraging emails to Tara. Many of the other MOMs have shared their similar experiences of their difficult pregnancies- one even went on bed rest as early as 10 weeks. I sit back and read all these emails, and with each one, I am reminded of how truly blessed I am.
Many women try and try for years to get pregnant with no success. Many have to go to extreme measures to be blessed with one (or more) babies. Some moms, even with these "extreme" measures, have to do the process repeatedly before getting pregnant! Then, once pregnant, still have difficult pregnancies riddled with complications. So, when they finally see their baby (babies), it is such a relief for them; finally, after years and years of much heartache, they have their beautiful child (or children) in their arms- ready to begin life with them!
I think sometimes we take for granted how blessed we are in having kids...those of us who are....shall I say "Fertile Myrtles." So, as I meet all these wonderful women in my TMOM group, and I hear all of their amazing stories, I praise GOD that my conception, pregnancies and deliveries were fairly uneventful. I have 4 terrific kids who are wonderfully happy and healthy! I pray that I never forget what a blessing God has given me. I will treasure every moment with them as though I had to fight to get them, and not take for granted who and what they are to my family! I love my kids so much! Praise be to my Father for such a gift...4 times over!
